Respect Life Activities In 1995, Pope John Paul II issued an encyclical letter entitled Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life). In that encyclical, our Holy Father lamented the rise of a “culture of death” in which “the very right to life is being denied or trampled upon, especially at the more significant moments of existence: the moment of birth and the moment of death.”
In response to our Holy Father’s plea for all people of good will to promote a “culture of life”, the Respect Life Committee of Saint Anastasia Parish has made a commitment to: · Promote educational programs on the sanctity of human life; · Pray for the protection and safety of unborn children; · Provide support services for women in problem pregnancies; · Keep parishioners informed about pending legislation that will protect the right to life of all members of society.
The Respect Life Committee believes passionately and intends to speak boldly concerning respect life issues; however the approach will always be respectful, peaceful, tasteful, and moderate.
Parishioners of all ages - preteens through senior citizens – are invited to help with the activities of the Respect Life Committee. For more information about parish sponsored Respect Life Activities, contact:
